Trial of one of the 'Scottish Martyrs', Thomas Fyshe Palmer (1747-1802) political reformer and Unitarian minister who agitated in Scotland for universal suffrage. Convicted of sedition in 1793, Palmer was sentenced to seven years transportation, and sailed in 1794 on the 'Surprize', along with the Scottish Martyrs, Thomas Muir, William Skirving and Maurice Margarot.
